Minor And Double Major Programs

MINOR PROGRAM

The Minor Program in the department of City and Regional Planning is open to all students of IZTECH who are pursuing their major degrees successfully and are interested in acquiring knowledge about urbanization processes, urban problems and issues.

Students can apply to the minor program between their third and sixth semesters. Any student holding a minimum 2.50 G.P.A. in his/her major program with a successful completion of all courses during the application period can apply to the minor program. Applications are made directly to the Registrar’s Office with a petition and transcript on the stated dates in the IZTECH acedemic calander.

Student must take 18 credit courses (3 compulsory, 3 elective courses) from the minor program.12 credits out of 18 must be taken from the department’s course list. Successful completion of the courses in the minor program with 2.00 G.P.A. grants students with a Minor Diploma in City and Regional Planning but does not entitle them to exercise the planning profession.

DOUBLE MAJOR PROGRAM

 

Double major program in the department of City and Regional Planning aims for students who are excellent in their undergraduate programs to be entitled to receive a second diploma from the program. Students holding a bachelor degree in their major programs with a minimum 2.50 G.P.A. in their double major programs have a right to receive a diploma from the double major program in our department.This diploma gives students right to exercise the planning profession.

Students can apply to the program between their third and fifth semesters. Any student holding a minimum 3.00 G.P.A. and is in the first 20% of his/her major programwith a successful completion of all courses during the application period can apply to the program.Applications are made directly to the Registrar’s Office with a petition and transcript on the stated dates in the IZTECH acedemic calander.

Our double major program requires minimum 36 credit hours to be completed. Curriculum of the double major program is as stated as in the curriculum of city and regional planning undergraduate program.
