We are bringing together the unique field experience of Doğa Derneği with the academic expertise of İzmir Institute of Technology!
We invite all students and academics interested in sustainability, ecology, and rural development to this interactive workshop where theory and practice come together, and where we will explore new opportunities for collaboration.

Opening and Preliminary Assessment (20 min)

Introduction to the ASSETS Project & “Where Are We, What Do We Know?” session via Mentimeter

Agroecology: Conceptual Framework (10 min)

What is agroecology? Fundamental principles in the context of sustainability and climate.

Ancient Production Basins (30 min)

Raziye İçtepe (Doğa Derneği)
The ecological and cultural significance of ancient production basins, with examples from Türkiye.

Orhanlı Basin: Agroecology in Practice (15 min)

Galip Ener (Doğa Derneği)
The relationship between production and ecosystems, agroecological practices in the field, challenges, and opportunities.

Q&A and Closing Session (30 min)

Theory–Practice Discussion & Future Collaboration Steps via Mentimeter

This event will be held in an interactive workshop format. Participants are expected to join Mentimeter activities using their smartphones.
